Columbia, South Carolina ---- United States Attorney Bill Nettles stated today that a Federal Grand Jury in Columbia, South Carolina, returned Indictment(s) against the following:
Two Men Charged with Mail Fraud in a Mortgage Scheme
Scott L. Lemons, age 35, of Surfside and Kevin V. Robinson, age 39, of Simpsonville were charged in a 3-count Indictment with Mail Fraud, a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section1341 in connection with a Myrtle Beach condominium development. The maximum penalty they could receive is 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigations and is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney T. DeWayne Pearson of the Columbia office for prosecution.
New York Women Charged with Credit Card Fraud
Tyeshia Alverez and Nicole Hutchinson, both age 24, of Brooklyn, New York were charged in a 2-count Indictment with Credit Card Fraud Conspiracy and Possession of Credit Device Making Equipment, violations of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1029(b)(2) and (a)(4) respectively. The maximum penalty they could receive is 15 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000. The case was investigated by the United States Secret Service and is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney T. DeWayne Pearson of the Columbia office for prosecution.
The United States Attorney stated that all charges in these Indictments are merely accusations and that all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
