Federal Grand Jury Indictments

Columbia, South Carolina ----- United States Attorney Bill Nettles stated today that a Federal Grand Jury in Charleston, South Carolina, returned Indictment(s) against the following:

North Charleston Man Indicted for Child Pornography
Brandon James Allen, age 35, of North Charleston, South Carolina was charged in a 2-count Indictment charging Distribution and Possession of Child Pornography, a violation of Title 18, U. S. C. §2252A.  The maximum penalty that Allen could receive is 20 years imprisonment and a maximum fine of $250,000.  The case was investigated by agents of the Homeland Security and is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Rhett DeHart of the Charleston office for prosecution.



Cottageville Man Indicted for Gun and Child Pornography Charges
Rusty Michael Hall, age 24, of North Charleston, South Carolina was charged in a 3-count Indictment charging a Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Receipt and Possession of Child Pornography, a violation of Title 18, U. S. C. §§ 922 and 2252A.  The maximum penalty that Allen could receive is 20 years imprisonment and a maximum fine of $250,000.  The case was investigated by agents of the Homeland Security and the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Rhett DeHart of the Charleston office for prosecution.

The United States Attorney stated that all charges in these Indictments are merely accusations and that all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
