Columbia, South Carolina---- United States Attorney Bill Nettles stated today that Barry Alan Johnson, age 45, of Ruby, South Carolina, was sentenced yesterday in federal court in Florence, South Carolina, for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, a violation of 21 U.S.C. § 846.  United States District Judge Terry L. Wooten of Florence sentenced Johnson to 110 months and three years of supervised release.

Evidence presented at the change of plea hearing established that Johnson conspired with others to possess and sale Oxycodone for many years with approximately 20 other people in Chesterfield County.  The investigation determined that Johnson purchased and sold a large quantity of Oxycodone in the form of Oxycontin at his residence.

                      The case was investigated by agents of Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office and the DEA Diversion.  Assistant United States Attorney William E. Day, II of the Florence office handled the case.
