United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Pierre man charged with distribution and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance was sentenced on October 16, 2009, by Chief United States District Judge Karen E. Schreier. Glen Ryan Ramser, age 21, was sentenced to one year probation, a $100 fine, and a $100 Victims Assistance Fund assessment. Ramser was indicted for three counts of distribution and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance by a federal grand jury on May 12, 2009. Between July 2007 and July 2008, Ramser knowingly and intentionally possessed, with intent to distribute, marihuana in South Dakota. He pled guilty to one count of distribution and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance on July 20, 2009. This case was investigated by the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force. Assistant United States Attorney Tim Maher prosecuted the case. # # # |
