United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Rosebud man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and Aiding and Abetting. Ken Antonio Zuniga, age 24, was indicted by a federal grand jury on October 13, 2009. He appeared before US Magistrate Judge Mark Moreno on October 20, 2009. The maximum penalty upon conviction is ten years imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, or both, and a period of supervised release of three years. Additionally, a $100 assessment to the Victims Assistance Fund and restitution may be ordered. The charge is merely an accusation, and Ken Zuniga is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The investigation is being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Rosebud Law Enforcement Services. Assistant US Attorney Kevin J. Krull is prosecuting the case. Ken Zuniga was remanded to the custody of the US Marshal. A trial date has not yet been set. # # # |
