Rapid City Man Sentenced 48 Months Imprisonment for Bank Robbery

Rapid City, SD

U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a man charged with Bank Robbery was sentenced on October 20, 2009, by U.S. District Judge Richard H. Battey. Lonnie Pannell (a/k/a Lonnie King), age 60, of Rapid City, was sentenced to 48 months incarceration, 3 years supervised release, and ordered to pay $100 to the Victims Assistance Fund. Pannell was indicted for Bank Robbery by a federal grand jury on February 11, 2009. He pled guilty to the robbery on July 29, 2009, admitting to robbing the Dacotah Bank in Rapid City on February 5, 2009. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Rapid City Police Department, the Hot Springs VA Police Department, the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, and the Nebraska Highway Patrol. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeremy R. Jehangiri prosecuted the case. Pannell was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal. # # #
