Loneman Man Guilty of Illegally Possessing Firearm

Rapid City, SD

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Dorian New Holy, age 37, of Loneman, appeared before Chief US District Judge Karen E. Schreier on October 27, 2009, and pled guilty to an Indictment that charged him with Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years imprisonment and/or a $250,000 fine. On February 11, 2009, near Loneman, New Holy, who was prohibited from possessing firearms, brandished a pistol. The investigation was conducted by OST and ATF. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant US Attorney Mark A. Vargo. A presentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for February 1, 2010. The defendant was remanded to the custody of the US Marshal pending sentencing. # # #
