Man From Mexico Sentenced for Entering United States Illegally

October 26, 2009
Rapid City, SD

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a man charged with Illegal Entry After Deportation was sentenced on October 26, 2009, by Chief US District Judge Karen E. Schreier. Ramon Cruz-Cid Del Prado, a/k/a Edgar Cruz-Garcia, age 28, was sentenced to 9 months imprisonment. Cruz-Cid Del Prado was indicted by a federal grand jury on August 25, 2009. On July 20, 2009, Cruz-Cid Del Prado was found living in Rapid City after having been previously deported to Mexico. On September 21, 2009, he pled guilty to the charge. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Assistant US Attorney Carolyn G. Olson prosecuted the case. Cruz-Cid Del Prado was immediately turned over to the custody of the US Marshal. # # #
