Pine Ridge Man Sentenced 33 Months Incarceration for Abusing a Minor

U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a man charged with Sexual Abuse of a Minor was sentenced on October 26, 2009, by Chief U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier. White Calf, age 21, of Pine Ridge, was sentenced to 33 months incarceration, 5 years supervised release, and ordered to pay $100 to the Victims Assistance Fund. White Calf was indicted for Sexual Abuse of a Minor by a federal grand jury on September 24, 2008. On January 23, 2009, he was tried in district court for knowingly and intentionally having sexual intercourse with a girl who was less than 16 years old and more than four years younger than himself. The jury found White Calf guilty. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mara M. Kohn prosecuted the case. White Calf was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal. # # #
