St. Francis Man Sentenced on Assault Charge

U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Randolph W. Points At Him a/k/a Randy Points At Him, age 47, of St. Francis, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on March 22, 2011, and pled guilty to an Information that charged him with Assault By Striking, Beating or Wounding. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 6 months' imprisonment.

The charge stems from the assault of a St. Francis man in November of 2008. The investigation was conducted by Rosebud Law Enforcement Services. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Kelderman.

A presentence investigation was waived, and both parties jointly recommended the maximum custodial sentence. The court sentenced Points At Him was to 6 months' custody and a $10 assessment. The defendant was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal to begin serving his sentence.
