Mission Man Enters Guilty Plea to Assault Charge

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Mission, South Dakota, man, Anthony Quinn Hero, age 26, charged with Striking, Beating, and Wounding pled guilty to the charge and was sentenced on September 12, 2011, by United States District Judge William R. Wilson, Jr.

Hero was sentenced to five months in custody and a $10 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund.

On January 31, 2011, Anthony Quinn Hero and the victim were in a vehicle together at the Rosebud Fuel Plaza near the Rosebud Casino. They were engaged in a verbal argument when Hero used his fist to strike the victim in the jaw, knocking the victim unconscious.

The case was investigated by Rosebud Law Enforcement Services. Assistant United States Attorney Tim Maher prosecuted the case. Hero was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
