Marty Man Indicted for Sexual Abuse

US Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Marty, South Dakota, man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for sexual abuse.

Donavan Rouse, age 26, was indicted by a federal grand jury on October 4, 2011, for Abusive Sexual Contact and Sexual Contact of a Minor. He appeared before US Magistrate Judge John E. Simko on October 11, 2011, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years imprisonment and up to life on supervised release. The charges are merely accusations, and Rouse is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The investigation is being conducted by BIA Law Enforcement Services - Yankton Agency and the FBI. Assistant US Attorney Thomas J. Wright is prosecuting the case. Rouse was remanded to the custody of the US Marshal. A trial date has not yet been set.
