Eagle Butte Man Indicted for Sexual Contact with a Minor

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that an Eagle Butte, South Dakota, man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Sexual Contact with a Minor.

Raymond Uses The Knife, III, a/k/a Yamni Uses The Knife, age 21, was indicted by a federal grand jury on June 12, 2012. He appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on July 2, 2012, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 2 years in custody, a $250,000 fine, or both. The charge is merely an accusation, and Uses The Knife is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The investigation is being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Division. Assistant United States Attorney Mikal Hanson is prosecuting the case. Uses The Knife was released on bond pending trial. A trial date has not yet been set.
