Valentine Man Guilty of Assault by Striking, Beating, and Wounding

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Valentine, Nebraska, man charged with Assault by Striking, Beating, and Wounding pled guilty to the charge and was sentenced on September 12, 2012, by United States Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno.  Marvin Seth Dubray, age 28, was sentenced to 6 months in custody, $120.90 in restitution, and a $10 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund.

On May 27, 2012, in Parmelee, Dubray and the victim were intoxicated, and a physical confrontation ensued between them.  Dubray struck the victim in the face. 

The investigation was conducted by Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services.  The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tim Maher.

Dubray was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.
