Pine Ridge Man Pleads Guilty to Distribution of a Controlled Substance

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that David Mousseau, age 33, of Pine Ridge, South Dakota, appeared before United States District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken on June 19, 2012, and pleaded guilty to Distribution of a Controlled Substance. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 5 years' imprisonment and/or a $250,000 fine.

The charge relates to Mousseau distributing marijuana at Pine Ridge on November 15, 2010. The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team. The case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Laura A. Shattuck.

A presentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for October 15, 2012. The defendant was released on bond pending sentencing.
