Pine Ridge Man Sentenced for Drug Distribution

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Pine Ridge, South Dakota, man charged with Distribution of a Controlled Substance was sentenced on October 15, 2012, by United States District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. David Mousseau, age 33, was sentenced to 2 years of probation and ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund.

Mousseau was indicted for Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance by a federal grand jury on May 15, 2012. The charges related to Mousseau selling 29.5 grams of marijuana to a confidential informant at Pine Ridge on November 15, 2010. Mousseau pled guilty to Distribution of a Controlled Substance on June 19, 2012.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team. Special Assistant United States Attorney Laura Shattuck prosecuted the case.
