Manderson Man Sentenced for Distribution of Marijuana

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Manderson man convicted of Distribution of a Controlled Substance was sentenced on December 12, 2012, by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. Nathan Ghost, age 49, was sentenced to 2 years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund.
Ghost was indicted on February 22, 2012, for distributing marijuana near Manderson in May 2011. Ghost pled guilty to the charge on August 24, 2012.
This case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services, the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety, Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura Shattuck prosecuted the case.
