
Rapid City Man Convicted of Assaulting a Park Ranger

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Rapid City
man convicted of Assault on a Federal Officer was sentenced on January 3,
2013, by U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy. Cody Gallagher, age 25,
was sentenced to 2 years’ probation with 4 months in home confinement and In July 2012, at Horsethief Lake Campground, Gallagher assaulted a
park ranger who was attempting to make Gallagher vacate the area. He
pleaded guilty on October 10, 2012. This case was investigated by the Pennington County Sheriff's Office and
the National park Service. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah B. Collins prosecuted
the case. |
