GUILTY PLEA OF HUMBERTO OTERO CEA

Mexican National pleads guilty to operating a document mill

[GREENEVILLE, TENNESSEE] -Humberto Otero Cea,31, of Morristown, Tennessee, pled guilty on August 20, 2008, in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee at Greeneville, Tennessee, to the knowing production of false Resident Alien Cards and the knowing forgery of fraudulent identification documents used to gain employment in the United States. Sentencing has been set for November, 13, 2008, at 1:30 p.m., in United States District Court in Greeneville.

Cea faces a term of imprisonment of up to fifteen (15) years on the first count and ten (10) years on the second count; potential fines of up to $250,000 on both counts, supervised release for up to five (5) years and three (3) years, respectively, $100 special assessments, and deportation immediately upon concluding the term of imprisonment. Property used to facilitate the crime will be forfeited.

The Morristown, Tennessee Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) jointly investigated Cea, who lived in Morristown, Tennessee prior to his arrest. Helen Smith, Assistant United States Attorney represented the United States.
