CURTIS
CARL FERGUSON SENTENCED
[GREENEVILLE,
TENNESSEE] Curtis Carl Ferguson, 33, of Kingsport, Tennessee, was sentenced in
United States District Court in Greeneville, Tennessee, to serve thirty-three
(33) months imprisonment by the Honorable Leon Jordan, United States District
Judge. Ferguson was placed on supervised release for a period of three (3)
years upon his release from imprisonment and was ordered to pay a $100 special
mandatory assessment. The sentence was the result of a guilty plea by Ferguson
on December 2, 2008, to a federal grand jury indictment charging him with being
a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The indictment and
subsequent conviction of Ferguson was the result of an arrest made by the
Kingsport Police Department at the Westside Inn on Stone Drive on August 11,
2008.
The United States
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF)and the Kingsport
Police Department were involved in the investigation and subsequent indictment,
conviction and sentencing of Ferguson. Assistant U.S. Attorney Helen Smith
