Memphis, TN - Jeffery McCall, 34, of Arlington, TN, was sentenced to 6 months in Federal prison by U. S. District Court Chief Judge Jon Phipps McCalla announced Lawrence J. Laurenzi, United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee.   McCall was sentenced for stealing money from individuals while performing his duties as a Deputy for the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. 

McCall pleaded guilty to a two-count Information in October 2009 charging him with Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law.  McCall was additionally sentenced to one year supervised release, 100 hours of community service, and he is precluded from working in law enforcement, corrections, or security.  He was also fined $6000.00. 

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and Memphis Police Department.  Assistant United States Attorney Brian Coleman handled the case for the government.
