
United States Attorney Announces New Law Enforcement Coordinator
Memphis, TN – Edward L. Stanton, III, United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee, announced today that Walter Gunn has been hired as the Office’s Law Enforcement Coordinator. Among other duties, Gunn will facilitate communication in the District among federal, state, and local organizations and serve as the District’s Public Information Officer. He will also promote the effective use of state, local, and international law enforcement resources and engage District communities regarding Department of Justice initiatives, law enforcement priorities, and crime prevention activities.
Gunn has a long and distinguished record of public service. Gunn began his career in 1994 with the Clarksdale, Mississippi Police Department. He became a member of the Memphis Police Department in 1998, where he was assigned to the Uniformed Patrol Division, Street Crime Abatement Team, D.A.R.E./ G.R.E.AT. Unit, Robbery Bureau, and most recently, the Safe Streets Task Force.
