17 DEFENDANTS INDICTED ON MULTIPLE DRUG CONSPIRACY CHARGES IN THE WESTERN DISTRICT OF TENNESSEE

Memphis, Tenn- Edward L. Stanton, III, United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee, and Brian Chambers, Resident Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration's Memphis office, announced today the unsealing of a thirty-three (33) count indictment charging seventeen (17) defendants with involvement in drug conspiracies in the Western District of Tennessee.

On April 28th, 2011, a federal grand jury in Memphis, Tennessee returned a thirty-three (33) count indictment charging 17 individuals with drug crimes. On May 26, 2011, the United States Attorney announced the unsealing of the indictments. Count One of the Indictment charges ten (10) people with conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute and to distribute more than five (5) kilograms of cocaine between July 3, 2009, and at least December 10, 2010. Count Two of the Indictment charges seventeen (17) individuals with conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute and to distribute more than one thousand (1,000) kilograms of marijuana between July 3, 2008, and at least December 10, 2010. The remaining counts charge individuals with the unlawful possession of marijuana and cocaine, and with using a telephone to facilitate the commission of the crime. The following people are charged with the following counts:

Earl Dean Shaw, Jr., a/k/a "Pete," age 51, Counts 1, 2, 6, 17, 22, 23, and 31;
Damon Perry, a/k/a "Snow," age 31, Counts 1, 2, and 18;
Osbaldo Chavez, a/k/a, "Charlie Brown," age 35, Count 2;
Evelio Rios, a/k/a "E.T.", age36, Counts 2 and 30;
Earl Dean Shaw, III, a/k/a "Duke," age 31, Counts 1, 2, 6, 25, 28, 29;
Timothy Shaw, a/k/a, "Tee Tee," age 29, Counts 1, 2, 6, 21, 22, 23, 33;
John Givins, a/k/a, "The Preacher," age 40, Counts 2, 22, and 23;
Michael Profit, a/k/a "Mike," age 39, Counts 1, 2, 7, and 17;
Nelson McIntosh, a/k/a "Mac," "Tupelo," age 42, Counts 1, 2, 11, 19, 20, 26, and 27;
Antonio Thompson, age38, Counts 2, 14, and 16;
Issac Stevinson, a/k/a "Ike," age 52, Counts 2, and 31;
William Springfield, a/k/a "The Truck Driver," age 41, Counts 2 and 24;
Freddy Norman, age 50, Count 2;
Andre Rush, a/k/a "Big Skank," age 64, Counts 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, and 13;
Larry Clark, a/k/a "LC," age 49, Counts 1, 2, 5, and 15;
Courtney Shaw-Lewis, a/k/a "Co Co," age 30, Counts 1, 2, 9, 10, 12, and 32;
Johnetta Jones, a/k/a "Joe," age 46, Counts 1, 2, 17, 28, and 29.

Counts One and Two of the Indictment carry a potential penalty of not less than ten years imprisonment up to life imprisonment and fines up to $10,000,000, plus ten years of supervised release. The telephone related charges each carry up to four years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine, plus up to three years supervised release. The cocaine possession related charges carry up to 20 years imprisonment and up to a $2,000,000 fine. The marijuana possession related charges carry up to five years imprisonment and up to a $ 250,000 fine. The penalties may be higher if the person has been previously convicted of a drug felony.

This case is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant United States Attorney E. Greg Gilluly, Jr. is prosecuting the case for the United States.
