Hotel Robber Convicted

Memphis, TN - On Thursday, February 14, 2008, MICHAEL EUGENE DAVIS pled guilty to two counts of an indictment which charged him with six counts of robbery affecting interstate commerce announced David Kustoff, United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee. The businesses robbed were: 1) the Wingate Inn, 2270 North Germantown Parkway; 2) the Ramada Inn, 1585 Sycamore View; 3) the Amerisuites, 1220 Primacy Parkway; 4) the Fairfield Inn, 9320 Poplar Pike, Germantown, Tennessee; 5) the Park Place Hotel, 5877 Poplar Avenue; and, 6) the Sleep Inn, 2855 Austin Peay Highway. DAVIS pled guilty to the first and sixth charges. His sentencing is set for May 15, 2008 before the Honorable J. Daniel Breen. The maximum penalty for robbery of a business in interstate commerce is not more than 20 years, $250,000 fine, or both.

These cases were investigated by the Safe Streets Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Braden H. Boucek is handling these cases on behalf of the United States Attorney’s Office.
