Henderson County Man Sentenced to 192 Months

Jackson, Tennessee - Samuel Martinez, 29, of Reagan, Tennessee was sentenced in the United States District Court on January 11, 2008 announced David Kustoff, United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee . Chief Judge James D. Todd imposed a total sentence of 192 months in prison. Martinez was sentenced to 132 months for Possession with Intent to Distribute over 50 Grams of Methamphetamine and 60 months consecutive for Possession of a Firearm During and in Relation to a Drug Trafficking Crime, for a total sentence of 192 months.

Martinez entered a guilty plea to count one of the indictment on June 8, 2007. The evidence at sentencing showed that Martinez was arrested by law enforcement officers when he arrived at 1445 Petty Road, in Lexington, Tennessee, delivering over 300 grams of pure Methamphetamine. Martinez was also in possession of two firearms at the time of his arrest.

The investigation was handled by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Henderson County Sheriff’s Department and the Lexington Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Jerry Kitchen handled the case for the Government.
