Armed Career Criminal Gets 25 Years in Prison
Jackson, Tennessee - Carlos Clark of Jackson, TN was sentenced on March 25, 2008 by United States District Judge James D. Todd to 300 months in the Bureau of Prisons with 5 years of supervised release to be served consecutively to his remaining Madison County state sentence announced David Kustoff, United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee.
Clark was convicted at trial of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm on December 19, 2007. Because of Clark’s serious prior criminal history Judge Todd found Clark to be an armed career criminal subject to an enhanced sentence. Clark had been arrested by officers of the Jackson Police Department after responding to a domestic disturbance call in which shots had been fired. The case was investigated by the Violent Crimes Unit of the Jackson Police Department which brought the case to the U. S. Attorney’s Office for prosecution. This case was handled by Assistant United States Attorney Leigh Grinalds.
