Madison County Man Sentenced to 32 Years

Jackson, Tennessee -  VIDALE WALKER of Madison County was sentenced in the United States District Court on May 14, 2008 announced David Kustoff, United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee.  Chief Judge James D. Todd imposed a total sentence of three hundred eight-four (384) months in prison.  WALKER was sentenced to 32 years for conspiracy to distribute  over  50 grams of methamphetamine, possession with the intent to distribute, and distributing over 50 grams of methamphetamine.

WALKER was convicted at trial on February 8, 2008.  The evidence at trial showed that WALKER obtained large quantities of methamphetamine from California and developed multiple sources within the Madison County area for distribution.  Numerous individuals testified that WALKER had been supplying  them with methamphetamine on a daily basis.  Undercover Agents  with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation met with WALKER on two occasions and purchased methamphetamine.                   

At sentencing the government presented proof to show that WALKER was a leader of the conspiracy and that he had obstructed justice, by threatening other unindicted co-defendants and witnesses.                                                     

The investigation was handled by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Waverly Police Department, Camden Police Department and Benton County Sheriff’s Department.  Assistant United States Attorney Jerry Kitchen and Michelle Parks  handled the case for the Government.
