Defendant Antwan Webster Sentenced in Supervised Release
Hearing for Involvement in Murder
Memphis, TN - Defendant Antwan Webster, 29, was found to have violated the terms of his federal supervised release for his involvement in the shooting death of Kevin Valentine, and sentenced to five years imprisonment. This announcement was made by David Kustoff, United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee.
The Honorable Jon P. McCalla, Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, found Webster guilty after a hearing on May 5, 2008, and on the same day sentenced him to five years imprisonment, the maximum sentence under the statute.
Kevin Valentine was murdered on May 21, 2007. In summary, the Court found that the defendant participated in the planning of the robbery of Valentine and then was the getaway driver after the shooting. To date, the proceeding before Judge McCalla has been the only proceeding in which Webster has been sentenced for this crime.
The Memphis Police Department and the United States Probation Office conducted the investigation of this matter. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Braden Boucek, with the Memphis office of the United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee.
