GREGG COUNTY MAN GUILTY OF FEDERAL DRUG VIOLATIONS
TYLER, TX – United States Attorney John L. Ratcliffe announced today that a 29-year-old Longview man has pleaded guilty to federal drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas.
RAUL BERUMEN BRISENO admitted to being involved in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine today before United States Magistrate Judge John D. Love.
According to information presented in court, an investigation revealed that Briseno was selling multiple ounces of methamphetamine in the Longview area. On June 5, 2007, a federal indictment was returned by the grand jury charging Briseno with federal drug violations.
Briseno faces up to life in federal prison and a $4 million fine at sentencing. He has also agreed to forfeitures of cash. A sentencing date has not been set at this time.
This case is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard L. Moore.
