ORANGE, TEXAS MAN SENTENCED FOR FEDERAL DRUG VIOLATIONS
(BEAUMONT TX) United States Attorney John L. Ratcliffe announced today that a 19-year-old Orange, Texas man has been sentenced to 24 months in federal prison for federal drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas.
CLIFTON MERRILL BROOKSHIRE was sentenced for possession with intent to distribute cocaine yesterday by United States District Judge Thad Heartfield.
According to information presented in court, on March 9, 2006, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Brookshire’s Orange, Texas residence where they discovered 1,968 tablets of ecstasy, a handgun and $3,199.00 in cash. Brookshire pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine on September 21, 2006.
This case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Beaumont Police Department and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert L. Rawls.
