SILSBEE MAN CONVICTED OF FEDERAL DRUG CRIMES
BEAUMONT, TX - United States Attorney John L. Ratcliffe announced today that a 27-year-old Silsbee man has been convicted of federal drug crimes in the Eastern District of Texas.
BRIAN ONEAL HOWARD was found guilty by a jury late Tuesday afternoon of possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine. Howard was convicted by a jury after a two-day trial before United States District Judge Thad Heartfield.
According to information presented in court, Howard was stopped by officers with the Silsbee Police Department on November 1, 2005 for driving in a suspicious manner. A search of the vehicle revealed crack cocaine. Howard has two previous drug related felony convictions.
Howard faces from 10 years to life in federal prison at sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set.
This case was investigated by the Silsbee Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Randall L. Fluke .
