TYLER MAN GUILTY OF METH CHARGES
(Tyler, TX) United States Attorney Matthew D. Orwig announced today that a 52-year-old Tyler man has pleaded guilty to federal drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas.
JOHN BRUCE GUTHRIE admitted to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine today before United States Magistrate Judge John Love.
Guthrie faces up to 40 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $2 million at sentencing. He also faces forfeiture of his Tyler residence because it was used to facilitate drug trafficking activities. A sentencing date has not been set.
This case is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Smith County Sheriff’s Office and the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mary Ann Cozby.
