HOUSTON MAN GUILTY IN EAST TEXAS DRUG SCHEME
TYLER, TX – United States Attorney Rebecca A. Gregory announced today that a 34-year-old Houston man has pleaded guilty to drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas.
IGNACIO FARIAS admitted to possession with the intent to distribute cocaine today before United States Magistrate Judge John D. Love
According to information presented in court, Farias admitted to delivering 1 kilogram of cocaine to other defendants in the case on August 3, 2007.
Farias faces up to 40 years in federal prison and a fine up to $2 million. Farias has agreed to the forfeiture of $50,000.00, representing the proceeds from the sale of the cocaine. A sentencing date has not been set.
This case is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Henderson Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Bill Baldwin.
