LUFKIN, TEXAS MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FEDERAL FIREARM VIOLATIONS
(Lufkin, TX) United States Attorney Becky Gregory announced today that a 30 year old Lufkin, Texas man has pleaded guilty to federal firearm violations in the Eastern District of Texas.
JARROD WAYNE GEE pleaded guilty today to charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm during an appearance before United States Magistrate Judge Keith Giblin. A sentencing date for Gee has not been set.
According to information presented in Court, in October, 2007, Angelina County Sheriff Kent Henson arrested Gee for an outstanding warrant. Following Gee's arrest, the vehicle he was driving was inventoried, and a shotgun, bearing no serial number, was found. Gee admitted he had been traveling between Cleveland, Lufkin, and Jasper, Texas, buying pseudoephedrine pills to trade them for stolen property that he had been pawning in surrounding counties. Gee has several past state felony convictions, and therefore is precluded from owning or possessing a firearm.
This case was investigated by the Angelina County Sheriff's Office, the Lufkin Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lisa Flournoy.
