PALESTINE, TEXAS WOMAN SENTENCED FOR FEDERAL DRUG VIOLATIONS

TYLER, TX --            United States Attorney John L. Ratcliffe announced today that a 24-year-old Palestine, Texas woman has been sentenced to 63 months in federal prison in the Eastern District of Texas for federal drug crimes.

            HEATHER WILSON pleaded guilty to possession with the intent to distribute approximately 444 grams of methamphetamine on November 29, 2007.  She was sentenced today to 63 months in federal prison by United States District Judge Michael Schneider.

            According to information provided in court, on December 30, 2006, Wilson was arrested following a traffic stop in Van Zandt County.  She was indicted by a federal grand jury on July 10, 2007 and charged with federal drug violations. 

            This case was investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Palestine Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mary Ann Cozby.
