LOUISIANA MAN SENTENCED FOR DRUG VIOLATIONS
TYLER, TX – United States Attorney Rebecca A. Gregory announced today that a Louisiana man has been sentenced to 188 months for federal drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas.
CEDRIC SHAW MITCHELL PAYNE, 33, had pleaded guilty in October of last year to possessing with the intent to distribute and distribution of cocaine. Payne was sentenced today during an appearance before the Honorable Judge Leonard E. Davis.
According to information presented in court, Payne was stopped for speeding on March 26, 2007 and found to be in possession of 5 kilograms of cocaine.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Gregg County Sheriff's Office. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Richard L. Moore.
