TEXARKANA MAN GUILTY OF FEDERAL DWI
TEXARKANA, TX – United States Attorney Rebecca A. Gregory announced today that a 39-year-old Texarkana man has pleaded guilty to federal driving while intoxicated charges in the Eastern District of Texas.
JEFFREY L. SPILLER admitted to driving while intoxicated, repeat offender, today before United States District Judge David Folsom.
According to information presented in court, Spiller stopped for driving while intoxicated on the Red River Army Depot on September 1, 2006. Spiller had a blood alcohol level of .243 and .228. Further investigation revealed Spiller had previously been convicted in Bowie County in 2001, 2004, and 2006 for Driving While Under the Influence.
Spiller faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $10,000 at sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set at this time.
This case is being investigated by the Red River Army Investigator's Office and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Denise O. Simpson.
