GREGG COUNTY MAN GUILTY IN CRACK COCAINE CASE
(TYLER, TX) United States Attorney John L. Ratcliffe announced today that a 23-year-old Gregg County man has pleaded guilty to federal drug trafficking charges in the Eastern District of Texas.
GREGGORY DEWAYNE WILLIAMS, 23, of Kilgore, also pleaded guilty to possession with the intent to distribute and distribution of crack cocaine today before United States Magistrate Judge John D. Love.
According to information presented in court, an investigation began in September 2007 into the distribution of crack cocaine in East Texas by Williams. A federal indictment was returned by the grand jury charging Williams with federal drug violations.
Williams faces up to 40 years in federal prison and a $2 million fine at sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set.
This case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Richard L. Moore.
