            TYLER, TX – U.S. Attorney Rebecca A. Gregory announced today that a 35-year-old Tyler man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas. 

            DISIFREDO BALDOVINOS-CARDENA pleaded guilty on Jan. 5, 2009, to conspiracy to distribute cocaine and methamphetamine and was sentenced today to 63 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Leonard E. Davis.  Baldovinos also agreed to the forfeiture of $25,000.00.

            According to information presented in court, from October 2005, to September 2008, Baldovinos and others distributed 582 grams of cocaine and 56 grams of methamphetamine in Smith County, Texas.  Baldovinos was indicted on Sep. 9, 2008, and charged with federal drug trafficking violations.

            This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Allen Hurst.
