HOUSTON MAN SENTENCED FOR DEALING COCAINE
TYLER, TX – U.S. Attorney Rebecca A. Gregory announced today that a 34-year-old Houston man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas.
IGNACIO FARIAS pleaded guilty on Oct. 21, 2008, to possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and was sentenced to seventy-three (73) months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Michael H. Schneider. Farias was also ordered to forfeit $50,000.00 representing the proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs.
According to information presented in court, Farias admitted to delivering 1 kilogram of cocaine to other defendants in the case on Aug. 3, 2007.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Henderson Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Baldwin.
