            TEXARKANA, TX – U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a 38-year-old Texarkana, Texas man has pleaded guilty to cocaine trafficking charges in the Eastern District of Texas. 

            OSCAR RANDOLPH STEWART pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine today before U.S. District Judge David Folsom. 

            According to information presented in court, on Dec. 6, 2004, Stewart was found to be in possession of between 20 and 35 kilograms of cocaine in Bowie County, Texas.  On Feb. 5, 2008, Stewart was indicted by a federal grand jury and charged with federal drug trafficking crimes.

            Stewart faces up to Life in federal prison at sentencing.  A sentencing date has not been set.

            This case is being investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Denise O. Simpson.
