OKLAHOMA WOMAN SENTENCED FOR EAST TEXAS DRUG VIOLATIONS

 

            MARSHALL, TX --   U.S. Attorney Rebecca Gregory announced today that a 36-year-old Norman, Oklahoma woman has been sentenced to federal prison for drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas. 

            WENDELLA GENOA WILLIAMS pleaded guilty to an Information on Dec. 15, 2008, charging her with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and was sentenced today to 37 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge T. John Ward.

            According to information presented in court, on Sep. 13, 2007, Williams was arrested following a traffic stop in Dallas County, during which a search of her vehicle revealed 1 kilogram of cocaine.  Further investigation determined Williams had been distributing cocaine in East Texas and was returning to Oklahoma from Camp County at the time of her arrest.

            This case was investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the DPS Narcotics Section and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Denise O. Simpson.
