HENDERSON MAN GUILTY OF FEDERAL DRUG CHARGES
TYLER, TX – U.S. Attorney Rebecca A. Gregory announced today that a 33-year-old Henderson man has pleaded guilty to federal drug charges in the Eastern District of Texas.
DERRICK RICHARDSON pleaded guilty today to possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine before U.S. Magistrate Judge Judith K. Guthrie.
According to information presented in court, since September 2007, Richardson had distributed crack cocaine to others in the Henderson, Texas area. Richardson was indicted by a federal grand jury on Feb. 4, 2009 and charged with federal drug crimes.
Richardson faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a $2 million fine at sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set.
This case is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Baldwin.
