LONGVIEW MEN SENTENCED IN CRACK COCAINE CASE
TYLER, TX – U.S. Attorney Rebecca A. Gregory announced today that three Longview men have been sentenced to federal prison for drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas. The sentencing hearings were held today before U.S. District Judge Leonard E. Davis.
DAJAMUEL DIONE FLOYD, 31, pleaded guilty on Oct. 8, 2008, to possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and use and carrying a firearm during a drug trafficking crime and was sentenced today to 110 months in federal prison and a forfeiture judgment of $100,000.00 and all interest in property seized.
LARRY DONNEL GEORGE, 26, pleaded guilty on Nov. 3, 2008, to possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and was sentenced today to 137 months in federal prison and a forfeiture judgment of $10,000.00.
CARLO DEMOND STOKER-YOUNG, 30, pleaded guilty on Oct. 29, 2008, to possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and was sentenced today to 60 months in federal prison and a forfeiture judgment of $10,000.00.
According to information presented in court, since approximately January 2006, the defendants have been part of a drug distribution ring dealing crack cocaine to others in and around the Longview, Texas area. An 87-count federal superseding indictment was returned on May 13, 2008, charging 29 individuals with federal drug and gun crimes.
This case is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the East Texas HIDTA Violent Crimes Task Force, the Gregg County C.O.D.E. Unit, the Gregg County Sheriff's Office, the Longview Police Department, the Gregg County District Attorney's Office, and the Kilgore Police Department. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Richard L. Moore.
