DALLAS MAN SENTENCED FOR METHAMPHETAMINE_DISTRIBUTION IN EAST TEXAS
TYLER, TX – U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a 38-year-old Dallas, Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas.
HILARIO AUGUSTIN LOPEZ pleaded guilty on May 19, 2009, to being involved in a conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and was sentenced today to 120 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Michael H. Schneider.
According to information presented in court, during 2007 and 2008, Lopez distributed methamphetamine in the East Texas area. A federal indictment was returned by the grand jury on Dec. 2, 2008, charging Lopez with federal drug trafficking crimes.
This case was investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Department of Public Safety Narcotics Service and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Mary Ann Cozby.
