LONGVIEW MAN SENTENCED FOR FEDERAL DRUG VIOLATIONS
TYLER, TX -- United States Attorney Rebecca Gregory announced today that a 29-year-old Longview man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug-related crimes in the Eastern District of Texas.
RUBEN LOZANO, III pleaded guilty on June 25, 2008 to being involved in a conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute and distribution of methamphetamine and was sentenced today to 51 months in federal prison by United States District Judge Leonard E. Davis.
According to information presented in court, since July 2004, Lozano and other co-defendants had been conspiring to distribute methamphetamine in and around Longview. A federal superseding indictment was returned on October 2, 2007, charging 15 individuals with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Gregg County Organized Drug Enforcement Unit (CODE), Gregg County Sheriff's Office and the Longview Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Richard L. Moore.
