GREGG COUNTY WOMAN GUILTY OF FEDERAL DRUG TRAFFICKING
TYLER, TX – U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a 42-year-old Longview, Texas woman has pleaded guilty to federal drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas.
CONNIE MONIQUE MOORE pleaded guilty to possessing with the intent to distribute methamphetamine today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Judith K. Guthrie.
According to information presented in court, from February 2004 until about October 2008, Moore possessed methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it to others in the Longview, Texas area. A federal grand jury returned an indictment on Feb. 4, 2009, charging her with federal drug trafficking crimes.
Moore faces up to Life in federal prison at sentencing. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the East Texas HIDTA Violent Crimes Task Force, the Gregg County CODE Unit, the Gregg County Sheriff's Office, the Longview Police Department, the Gregg County District Attorney's Office, and the Kilgore Police Department. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard L. Moore.
