EAST TEXAS MAN GUILTY OF DRUG TRAFFICKING CRIMES
TYLER, TX – U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a 34-year-old Palestine, Texas man has pleaded guilty to federal drug trafficking crimes in the Eastern District of Texas.
JASON MICHAEL PRYOR pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Judith Guthrie.
According to information presented in court, on Feb. 27, 2009, Pryor was arrested in Tyler and found to be in possession of more than 1.5 kilograms, but less than 5 kilograms of methamphetamine, which he received from Dallas and was distributing in the Tyler, TX area. A 3-count federal indictment was returned by the grand jury on Mar. 4, 2009, charging 7 individuals, including Pryor, with drug trafficking crimes.
Pryor faces up to Life in federal prison. A sentencing date has not been set.
This case is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Baldwin.
