TYLER, TX – U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a 30-year-old Longview man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas.  

MARLOS ANTONIO STOKER pleaded guilty on Apr. 1, 2009, to possession with intent to distribute and distribution of methamphetamine and was sentenced to 80 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Leonard E. Davis.  Stoker was also ordered to pay a $5,000 judgment and the forfeiture of a firearm and ammunition.

            According to information presented in court, in August 2008, Stoker had been distributing methamphetamine to others in the Longview area.  A federal indictment was returned by the grand jury on Sep. 9, 2008, charging Stoker with drug trafficking violations.

            This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Gregg County CODE Unit, the Gregg County Sheriff's Office and the Gregg County District Attorney's Office and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard L. Moore.
