CALIFORNIA MAN GUILTY OF EAST TEXAS FEDERAL DRUG CHARGES
TYLER, TX – U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a 38-year-old California man has pleaded guilty to methamphetamine trafficking charges in the Eastern District of Texas.
VICTOR HUGO MORALES ZARCO pleaded guilty to an Information charging him with possession with intent to distribute and distribution of methamphetamine today before U.S. Magistrate Judge John D. Love.
According to information presented in court, on Oct. 1, 2008, Zarco was stopped on Interstate 20 for a traffic violation. During the stop, Zarco was found to be in possession of over 500 grams of methamphetamine.
Zarco faces up to Life in federal prison at sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set.
This case is being investigated by the Smith County Sheriff's Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard L. Moore.
